The Male Warrior's dance is a disco dance

The Female Warrior does the Uma Thurman dance

Since this thread seems to have gone astray, I thought I'd bring it back using someone else's thoughts on primary Rangers.

This seems to fly in the face of the popular opinion here on GWGuru, which prompts the question, "How'd he come up with that?" More importantly, "Could there be some truth in his write-up?"

And how about that build? Doesn't look like something I'd run, but...

Oath shot is just as effective on a secondary ranger as a primary.

Ha, that's pretty much it, for Rangers. I never noticed the ability to inflict every condition under the sun, granted, but I've never taken them for damage dealers. Every time a Ranger tries to outdamage me with a piddly little bow, I laugh. I laugh for justice! In the time it takes them to get their next shot of, any damage they've dealt has been rendered null. Yet a shutdown/conditions Ranger? Oooh, balls. They are something to be feared. Strangely enough, I've only ran into a few of them the past two Beta Weekends, but each time I've ended up flat on my back. You can't get near them, you can't cast near them... hell, I had enough problems simply trying to run away from them. If you have the attention of a Ranger like that, you're not going anywhere or doing anything. Truly makes me wonder why I see so many Legolas-types running around with Dual Shot and some arsey "Wow, 10 more damage," preperation.

Thank you for confirming that you need Marksmanship and not Expertise

It seems to me as though whereas other classes are normally geared toward one sole purpose, rangers, at least in most cases, can handle many situations well. They arent like amazons were in diablo 2 before the patch, but they seem just as popular.

And then thats when i said to myself, im gonna give it a shot!

So i came to this site and studied the professions and the ranger seemed most fitting for me.

Not to mention that video with the ranger dancing.

So i know for sure im going to be a primary ranger, im unsure about my second proffesion.
She is fairly hot... for pixels... heheheh.

They have argueably the best male/female looks overall. Some classes are good looking with only 1 gender, while some are very constricted by their armour to look cool. A warrior for instance is just crying to be ugly in PVP since they need that captain's helmet. A mask on the other hand doesn't look too bad no matter which one you pick.

As a practical matter, they are the most popular class among people who like to solo. Soloing is more fun and feasible with a pet. Yes, any class with Ranger secondary can take Charm, but I'm guessing a similar poll would show that Ranger is probably the least used secondary. There may be no good reason for it, but I would guess that people who like to solo and like the idea of a pet, would choose Ranger as their primary.

Wasn't Legolis (sorry about the spelling, not a LOTR worshiper) from LOTR a ranger? Might have something to do with the decision. I am suprised Necro/Warriors aren't popular as you do get a "pet" of sorts with them and a warrior subclass allows some weaponry to be used. Besides, nothing beats sucking life out of critters faster than they can heal themselves... Of course despite my suggestion of a necro/warrior, I still think playing a ranger just sounds fun due to their lineage of the solo lone "wolf" image they have. Hmmm.. sorry about the pun.
